Located right next to Kokonut Suites in Seminyak, Livingstone Cafe & Bakery is situated on the 1st floor of a two-storey building. The second floor is occupied by another cafe called Buro Bali.
Apart from Sisterfields, Livingstone is another cafe I went to in Seminyak that is worth-a-visit!
Don’t get me started on their menu. It’s so extensive that my friend and I had a hard time choosing what to order.
I forgot to ask for recommendations from my friends so in the end we just picked what we felt like trying.
Bright, clean and modern – the three words that simply describe how Livingstone Cafe is like!
I actually had high expectations for this cafe as a few of my friends specifically recommended it to me. However, I was slightly disappointed as the desserts and drinks that we ordered turned out to be nothing special.
St. Clement’s Creme Brûlée
Custard topped with caramalized sugar and vanilla ice cream on the side
I have a low tolerance for sugar – I simply cannot stand any food that is overly sweet – so I found this to be slightly too sweet for my liking. In the end, we could not finish the creme brûlée 🙁
By far, I think the best creme brûlée that I’ve ever tried is the one from L’Occitane Cafe in Tokyo!
Not sure if you remember my previous post on Koultura Coffee (click here to read the review!), but there I mentioned that I really wanted to try Taro Latte. And I was very glad to have found it on Livingstone’s menu!
I actually quite liked the taste of the Taro Latte – pretty unique I’d say. Although the taste could have been further enhanced had the barista put less milk in the latte, as it was slightly too “creamy”.
Having said that, I’d definitely try Taro Latte again! Do let me know if you know any place that serves good Taro Latte in Singapore or Jakarta! Or Tokyo as I’ll be going there next month! 🙂
Apart from the cafe and restaurant, there is Livingstone Bakery as well allowing visitors to buy take-away breakfast easily! Or if you feel like shopping, you can always check the clothes display on the second storey! 🙂
Will definitely come back to this cafe and try more dishes, to find out why my friends love this cafe so much!
So, ’til next time! 🙂
