Fat Cow Steakhouse Review: The Place for Authentic Japanese Steak

If you live in Singapore and have not tried this awesome steakhouse called Fat Cow, I would highly recommend you to try the steak at this restaurant. It is definitely the go-to place for an authentic Japanese experience! Olivia and I are both steak lovers and we had been wanting to try Fat Cow since last year. So at the beginning of this year, we bought the Entertainer app and decided to use the 1 for 1 promotion earlier this year! 🙂

It has been almost 4 months since then and believe me, the taste, tenderness, and juiciness of the steak still linger in my mouth!

We started our feast with Tai No Kuro-Toryufu appetiser (SGD 38). It was a very unique dish where they added black truffle to seasoned bream sashimi.

The intense and earthy fragrance from the black truffle was pretty strong but was not too overpowering. Instead, it turned the seasoned fresh sashimi into an even more gourmet experience. The taste was just perfect!

We decided to order the 150gm grade A3 sirloin (SGD 120) and A4 ribeye steak (SGD 120). As they did not come with any carbs, we also ordered Satsumaimo No Goma-Tare (grilled sweet potato – SGD 14) to fill our stomachs. To be honest, the steaks were quite small in portion, even though we knew they were only 150gm each. However, words can’t describe the taste of the steak! It was, hands down, the best steak I’ve tried to date! It literally just melted in my mouth. We even had to slow down our pace of eating to enjoy the steak a tad longer.

We ended our dinner with a complimentary birthday dessert which consisted of ice-cream and mochi.

All in all, both of us truly enjoyed our experience there! We had counter seats and we were quite amazed by how the chefs prepared the different dishes, from slicing the exact thickness of beef to grilling it to exact tenderness. They had very good service as well. One setback was that it was rather expensive. The appetiser costed SGD 38 and the steaks we ordered were SGD 120 each. But thanks to the Entertainer app, we had 1-for-1 for the mains, which meant SGD 120 off the bill! Pretty amazing right? If not, you can opt for the cheaper set lunch menu which costs about S$50 per person.

Just a short introduction to the Entertainer app. You pay SGD 60 for a year’s worth of subscription. With it, you get 3 coupons each for selected restaurants, ranging from average dining places, dessert shops to upscale restaurants like Fat Cow, Brasserie Le Saveur and so on. Most of the coupons are 1-for-1 but some have various other promotions. The app also offers coupons for certain hotels, spas and leisure places too! We have already saved almost SGD 1,000 from using this app. It’s definitely worth buying this app if you intend to dine at restaurants like this!
