Melbourne Eats: Coffee, Brunch, Donuts, Repeat ;)

After sharing some of my favourite places in Melbourne, it’s now time to a list of “Melbourne Eats” – featuring all the coffee shops and cafes that I think are worth going in Melbourne (plus, what to try when you are there!).

Melbourne Eats: Best Brunch in Melbourne

Proud Mary

Located in an industrial building that looks more like a factory than a cafe, Proud Mary serves one of the best coffees in town, and also the BEST potato hash. If you like rosti, I would definitely recommend you to try their potato hash.

The Hardware Societe

The Hardware Societe is famous for their Baked Eggs, and while it’s good, I don’t think I will order this again on my next visit. The Lobster Benedict is a better choice, in my opinion 🙂

Another thing this cafe is famous for? The long line. Come at odd hours to avoid the queue – I arrived at about 2PM and there wasn’t one 🙂

Melbourne Eats: Coffee Hopping in Melbourne

Market Lane Coffee

Another must-visit coffee shop in Melbourne: Market Lane Coffee Club. They are located slightly up north from the CBD area, near Queen Victoria Market. To be efficient, include this cafe in your plans when you visit Queen Victoria Market 😉 They have two branches there, one is within the market itself and the other one right outside the market.

I find the coffee slightly too bitter for my liking, but it’s still really good compared to what you can find in Singapore!

Little Rogue

While they do serve coffee, Little Rogue is actually more famous for their Green Tea Latte, so do give it a shot when you are here. And of course, don’t forget to take your #OOTD shot outside, right next to the blue door 🙂

Brother Baba Budan

The space in this specialty coffee shop is tiny. There is only a single communal table, a tiny bar, and seats for around 15 people. There is really not much space for people to move around in this cafe, but regulars would still come and wait around to get a cuppa from this place.

If you like Seven Seeds Coffee, do visit Brother Baba Budan and give it a try!

Melbourne Eats: Favorite Donuts!

Short Stop

Unlike the usual donut chains, the donuts at Short Stop are much bigger and thicker. Short Stop offers artisanal donuts using high-quality and natural ingredients. Also, they are made fresh on-site each day.

After trying both the normal donut and the cake donut, I thought the cake donuts were much nicer because the texture was really soft 🙂 I definitely would love a Cookies & Cream Cake Donut right now!
